Earlier this month, we lost a dear friend and valued member of our team. On December 9, 2017, John “Jack” Chabala, Ph.D. died suddenly.
Jack came on board as Chief Technical Analyst in June 2017, bringing with him more than 40 years of medicinal chemistry experience. Jack was an inventor listed on more than 30 patents and, notably, was a co-inventor of ivermectin, a drug whose discoverers won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Jack was particularly proud of ivermectin and its effect against the parasites causing river blindness and lymphatic filariasis in humans and other debilitating parasitic diseases in animals. Jack was a father, a grandfather and a friend. He will be remembered for his impressive knowledge of chemistry, his down-to-earth demeanor, his inventive mind, and his warm heart.
Our entire team at InClinica and at its parent company, Velocity Fund Partners, was deeply saddened to learn of his passing; he will surely be missed.
